- Description
- The Swedish Institute provides scholarships in Sweden to highly-qualified international students from target countries who wants to study at Sweden Universities. Scholarships are intended for studies in Sweden starting in the fall semester 2014 and focus mainly on master’s level.
- Scholarship Value
- The scholarship covers both the tuition fee (which is paid directly to the Swedish university/university college by the Swedish Institute) and living expenses to the amount of SEK 9,000 per month. Scholarship holders will also receive a travel grant in connection with the scholarship. The travel grant is a one-time payment of SEK 15,000. Scholarship holders will be insured by the Swedish State Group Insurance against illness and accident during the scholarship period.
- Eligible Candidates
- The scholarships are only intended for students who are required to pay tuition fees according to the information at University Admissions. There is no age limit for scholarship holders. Scholarships cannot be granted for students who:
- Have already lived in Sweden for two years or more previous to the scholarship period.
- Has Swedish or EU/EEA-citizenship, a permanent residence permit or a work permit in Sweden. (Not applicable for students from Syria.)
- Have previously been awarded a Swedish Institute scholarship for studies at Master’s level or for research at a Swedish university.
- Already hold a Master’s degree from a Swedish university/university college.
- Are currently enrolled incurrently enrolled in a study programme at a Swedish university/university college.
- Application Instruction
- Prior to applying for a scholarship, you must apply for a study program at the national online application service – Universityadmissions.se. Deadline for admission applications is 15 January 2014. Then, you must submit the payment of your application fee to University Admissions before 3 February 2014. Only then can you apply for a scholarship. The scholarship application period for the academic year 2014/2015 will be1-11 February 2014.
