    • Children’s Future International is looking for qualified candidate to fill the position as Healthcare Coordinator/Nurse.

      Position Summary
      The Children’s Future Health Care Coordinator / Nurse is responsible for managing both preventative and emergency healthcare of all Children’s Future beneficiaries, responding to health emergencies, and maintaining a proper system of health records for all Children’s Future beneficiaries. He/she reports to the Head of Child Well-being and will work in close cooperation with the Social Work Manager, the Residential Manager, and the School Manager. The Health Care Coordinator is responsible for creating partnerships with and maintaining a network of local hospitals and clinics, with which Children’s Future will liaise and send its beneficiaries.

        Duties
      • Incorporate the nursing process; assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide continuing healthcare to CFI beneficiaries
        • Perform first aid treatment/clean wounds at the Center, for Children’s Future beneficiaries.
        • Prepare and maintain a Children’s Future inventory of medications and supplies at the Center.
        • Treat minor illnesses according to level of comfort: i.e., prescribe basic “over the counter” medications, and antibiotics when appropriate.
        • Manage and supervise the transportation of children to the hospital or private clinics.
        • Maintain documentation of treatments received in Children’s Future medical chart.
        • Keep copies of outside records is Children’s Future medical chart when available.
        • Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations and be on-call, for major emergencies.
      • Plan and manage all primary health care for all beneficiaries
        • Coordinate yearly: eye screening, physical, dental check ups
        • Manage vaccination program for all Children’s Future beneficiaries.
        • Create active partnerships (based on Memorandums of Understanding) with local hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices, to which Children’s Future beneficiaries may be referred on an on-going basis.
        • Coordinate the treatment Children’s Future Child beneficiaries receive at private clinics and hospitals.
        • Advocate for children at the hospital and with the hospital or clinic medical professionals and administrators.
        • Ensure that a doctor examines the child.
        • Keep records of diagnosis and treatment recommendations
        • Administer prescribed drugs and follow-up with children following their discharge.
        • Maintain policies and procedures that ensure occupational health of Children’s Future staff.
      • Conntinuing health education
        • Coordinate and conduct quarterly staff health education trainings
        • Coordinate and conduct quarterly health related workshops for Children’s Future beneficiaries.
      • Develop, finalize, and regularly update Children’s Future’s Healthcare systems and procedure.
      • Train/mentor the candidate in the nurse assistant position.
      • Maintain privacy of private health information of all Children’s Future beneficiaries
        Requirements
        • All Children’s Future staff are representatives of Children’s Future at the center, in the community and online. The behavior and attitude of all staff does have an impact on the children we serve, our partners and our reputation within the wider community
          • Female candidate, strongly preferred (for cultural reasons)
          • Registered nurse or equivalent
          • Experience working with Western doctors or medicine
          • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or international equivalent
          • Excellent organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills
          • Strong commitment to protecting and empowering children
          • Able to learn and implement new concepts and skills quickly
          • Excellent spoken English, solid written English
          • Excellent spoken and written Khmer, strongly desired; if not, a commitment to learn Khmer
          • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and medical records systems
          • Resilient, self-confident, strong ability to give commands and work with families as well as doctors/nurses at local healthcare facilities

      • CFI offers a competitive salary of $300 to $350 per month, based on experience.
